Maestro DOBEL Legacy Series Dinner at Maple & Ash

Sep 17 2019

A glamorous group of guests gathered for more Maestro DOBEL Mexican-themed delights at the 3 years young Maple & Ash restaurant, established in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. Maple & Ash is an innovative take on the traditional steakhouse – mixing a modern aesthetic with authentic service to deliver classic wood-fired dishes.

With a wine list named “one of the most outstanding in the world” by Wine Spectator, guests enjoyed a sumptuous menu crafted by two-Michelin-starred Chef Danny Grant. Family style roasted beet & goat cheese, caesar salad, prime beef meatballs, and wood grilled octopus, were followed by a choice of Mediterranean Branzino or seasonal market fish, Home-made Ricotta Agnolotti with a winter truffle conserve, and Bone-In Ribeye, and all topped off with coconut cream pie or double chocolate cake.

The Maestro DOBEL classic Black Diamond Margarita, Banana du Bresil, Green Chartreuse and signature Espresso cocktails were the perfect accompaniment.

But the high point was B&A’s Sarah Sperling chatting with Mexican Artist It’s a Living, aka Ricardo Gonzalez, highlighting once again, raw Mexican creativity and its impact on the world.

IT’S A LIVING is not just a statement but it is also a life philosophy for Ricardo Gonzalez, a designer, and artist from Durango México currently living in Brooklyn. His signature script style can be easily recognized from large scale murals to commercial work for some of the biggest brands to a simple sticker in the streets.
