Fall Wine Weekend Getaway: Day One
Oct 17 2020
California Supper Clubbers revved their engines and set off to beautiful Sonoma Valley for a jam-packed fall wine weekend getaway on October 17th & 18th. With summer temperatures and blue skies to match, this two-day adventure kicked off at Anaba Wines. Greeted by Anaba Wines co-owner, John Sweazey, members swirled chilled glasses of crisp wines while making their way to the stunning lawn featuring unobstructed views of the Carneros Region. After rolling up our sleeves for a game of bocce, a guided tasting followed with local cheeses and homemade savory scones to enjoy under under cheery umbrellas.
Part two awaited members just down the road at beautiful Viansa Wines. Upon arrival, members were ushered through a whimsical foliaged portal, where none other than Viansa Wines' owner, Chris Sebastiani, whisked them away on a tour of the property with glasses of sparkling wine in hand. After picking a few persimmons off the trees, members discovered a spectacular multi-course wine paired luncheon down in the vineyard. With tables dripped in fresh flowers and delectable wines flowing, our culinary journey began with words from Chef Ari Weiswasser; a true Italian lunch experience and the most incredible way to end the first day of our wine weekend getaway.
