Holiday Supper Soirée at The Greenwich

Dec 09 2019

On a picturesque evening in the darling neighborhood of Cow Hollow, San Francisco members dashed, pranced and danced over to The Greenwich in their most festive attires with perfectly wrapped presents in hand. Greeted by twinkling lights and never-ending garlands, guests entered the Hamptons-inspired bistro, discovering the Cointreau cocktails of the evening, ‘Dreaming Of A Foggy Christmas’ and ’The Naughty List', along with a stunning DIY Margarita experience. As crisp glasses of wine, such as the J Vineyards Brut Rosé, floated around the room accompanied by delectable passed hors d’oeuvres, live tunes by the best Sinatra singer serenaded the crowd as they took their seats for a superb family-style dinner.

As Executive Chef, Jennifer Puccio put the finishing touches on her holiday creations, the four incredible wine partners of the evening were introduced: J Vineyards, Louis M. Martini, Orin Swift and William Hill. To begin, guests savored the first few sips of J Vineyards’ Brut Russian River Valley 2011 alongside a dreamy caviar blini amuse bouche, followed by an array of family-style appetizers such as The Greenwich Deviled Eggs, a Beet & Farro Salad, and last but certainly not least, a mouthwatering Di Stefano Burrata dish. For mains, guests indulged in Poulet Vert with tomato confit, Anson Mills Polenta with wild mushrooms, parmesan, truffle salsa verde, topped with a poached egg, and Filet Mignon in a red wine jus. To perfectly complement those three decadent and delicious dishes, an impressive vertical tasting of reds was presented, featuring William Hill’s Benchland Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Louis M. Martini’s Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 and Orin Swift’s Abstract, 2014. Guests gushed over the evening and exchanged holiday travel plans as the final course of the evening was unveiled—Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites and Pumpkin Cake with fresh whipped cream, perfectly paired with glasses of Orin Swift Mute and J Vineyards Cuvée 20 Brut.

As the last few dessert bites and sips of wine were savored, it was time for a Supper Club holiday tradition of Yankee Swap! Laughter filled the room as gifts were competitively swapped around the table — From a 7-course wine paired supper invitation for four gifted by Louis M. Martini, to beautiful coffee table cookbooks, the evening wrapped on a picture perfect holiday note as old and new friends hugged goodbye and we raised a final toast to 2019, ready to welcome an exciting new year together!
