Trou Normand

Trou Normand focuses on whole-animal butchery and house-made charcuterie using pork from Riverdog Farm and dried meats made from rare Mangalitsa pigs bred exclusively by Csarda Haz Farm and Dinner Bell Farm. They offer up to 40 types of salumi and charcuterie available all-day with seasonal sides, pasta and chophouse style cuts of meat for dinner, as well as cocktails that are based on classic turn-of-the-century recipes made with Brandies and spirits that are meticulously sourced from small batch producers, including an exclusive selection of Armagnac, Cognac, and Calvados that cannot be found anywhere else in the United States.


The Saratoga

The Saratoga is a glamorous two-story restaurant and bar in the heart of the Tendernob at Post and Larkin. From Bacchus Management Group (Spruce, The Village Pub), The Saratoga has a huge inventory of spirits, vintage chartreuse, and a menu of luxurious comfort food, offering guests delicious appetizers like chicken liver toast or shoestring potatoes sprinkled with rosemary that can also be shared before the main course. It offers hearty dishes such as New York steak covered in a cognac-peppercorn sauce or baked blue prawns with a garlic-chili vinaigrette. Gourmet-style burgers and flavorful salads are also on the menu. With it's swanky atmosphere, this spot is perfect for dinner or an evening out for drinks.


Babu Ji

280 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94103

Jessi and Jennifer Singh, the team who created four highly acclaimed restaurants in NYC, Melbourne, and Kyneton, Australia have come full circle, bringing their signature creative and fun approach to Indian dining to San Francisco’s Mission District. The Hindi term, Babu Ji is an honorific title used to offer respect to a man. The food at Babu Ji is simple yet remarkable in the general Indian dining scene as it’s made from high quality ingredients, cooked earnestly and offered in a creatively driven and regularly changing menu that spans Indian street food, cross regional curries and tandoori specialties. There’s a 40+ selection of mostly small, local beers in what is known as the "help yourself" fridge. The interesting but always approachable wine list was created with the help of sommelier legend Rajat Parr. The cocktail list is carefully crafted by Vincent Chirico of NYC’s famed Raines Law Room.

Marlowe is a neighborhood bistro owned and operated by husband and wife team Anna Weinberg & James Nicholas, along with chef/partner Jennifer Puccio, since 2010. Chef Puccio created a meat-centric menu of New American bistro favorites with unique and flavorful twists. The interior, designed by Ken Fulk, riffs on the butcher shop theme with white hexagonal floor tile, quilted stainless steel walls and drawings of animals marked for cuts.


The Cavalier

The Cavalier is a London inspired brasserie from Restaurateurs Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas and Chef Jennifer Puccio, owners and creators of the critically acclaimed San Francisco restaurants Marlowe and Park Tavern. The Cavalier joins its sister restaurants with both a three star rating from The San Francisco Chronicle, and a listing on the Chronicle’s famed “Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants” for 2014. The Cavalier and Park Tavern were both named James Beard Semi-Finalists for “Best New Restaurant in America” in 2014 and 2012 respectively. With it's sultry sister restaurant located right behind, Marianne's, and Hotel Zetta adjacent, The Cavalier is the perfect location to eat, drink, and play.


Park Tavern

Park Tavern is an upscale American tavern from Anna Weinberg, Chef Jennifer Puccio and Dave Stanton. Park Tavern is located in San Francisco’s historic North Beach neighborhood, adjacent to Washington Square Park. The restaurant offers a satisfying menu of seasonal, market-driven seafood and meat dishes for every palate. Claim a post at the communal bar table, enjoy a bite in their sunny indoor/outdoor café, or make an evening of it in their handsome, classically styled dining room.


Lazy Bear

Lazy Bear promotes itself as "the best dinner party you've ever attended" referencing its large communal American elm tables over which many a meal and story has been shared. With a modern American menu of intrinsically delicious and familiar cuisine, Lazy Bear serves just one tasting menu each night for a unique culinary and social experience.


Petit Crenn

Petit Crenn is a neighborhood restaurant inspired by Chef Dominique Crenn’s mother, grandmother and her home in Brittany, France. Be sure to check out the seven-course tasting menu, offered twice nightly Tuesday through Sunday.


Tosca Cafe

242 Columbus Ave, San Francisco, CA 94133

It’s unusual — but appropriate — that a 96-year-old business has become one of the hottest places in San Francisco, and it took a couple of New Yorkers to pull it off. April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman, who own the Spotted Pig and other restaurants in Manhattan, took over this institution three years ago, opening up a kitchen that had been shuttered since 1953. Josh Even has found the right balance in replicating a retro vibe — the food is familiar but has a modern sensibility so that it appears fresh, rather than clichéd.


State Bird Provisions

1529 Fillmore St, San Francisco, CA 94115

State Bird Provisions started out as a recipe for serving California Quail, the state bird of California, and has slowly evolved into a restaurant without any programmed elements. Chef Proprietors Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski have crafted an inspired menu of New American cuisine which earned them the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in the country in 2013.

Sons & Daughters

Sons & Daughters is influenced by the seasons and the surrounding bay area. The approach to the food is thoughtful, delicate, and displays clarity of ingredients. The wine program is unique, with wines that balance, enhance and pair the light and playful food. The 28 seat dining room is welcoming and wraps around a lively open kitchen which plays an active role in the dining experience.

Kokkari Estiatorio is driven by the concept of philoxenia, the art of making a stranger a friend. This philosophy drives their efforts to create a cuisine fit for the gods with the hospitality of a proper Greek home. Named after a small fishing village on the island of Samos in the Aegean Sea, Kokkari invites guests to experience Chef Erik Cosselmon's strong, ingredient-driven menu of Greek-inspired cuisine inside the old-world charm of a rustic Mediterranean country inn.


Liholiho Yacht Club

871 Sutter St, San Francisco, CA 94109

Liholiho Yacht Club is a Hawaiin-inspired restaurant from Chef Ravi Kapur, which draws inspirations from the cuisines and cultures of Northern California, Japan, India and Korea. With minimalist light fixtures and blonde-wood booths that give off a cool Californian vibe, Chef Kapur's spins on tuna poke and pork belly have earned Liholiho pay homage to tribue to the Hawaiin islands without being limited by tradition.


Wayfare Tavern

558 Sacramento St, San Francisco, CA 94111

Wayfare Tavern was opened in 2010 by celebrity Chef Tyler Florence, and has since then earned a name for itself as a go-to spot for reinvented American classics. Serving up sophisticated comfort food with a slight French slant, Florence's menu consists of updated yet time-tested combinations including a locally renowned buttermilk brined chicken and a Green Goddess salad, the recipe for which Florence attained from the family of Philip Roemer who invented the dressing back in 1923. For a classic "Old San Francisco" dining experience, Wayfare Tavern is definitely worth the visit.


Zuni Café

1658 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94102

Zuni Café has been a San Francisco hotspot since it opened in February of 1979. Zuni Café won the James Beard Foundation Award for ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ in 2003. Chef de Cuisine Rebecca Boice's daily changing menus are inspired by seasonal organic ingredients and incorporate traditional French and Italian cuisine. Nearly all of the produce, meat and fish is farmed or harvested in a sustainable manner. Chef Boice, a native Californian, draws inspirations from the recipes of her mother and grandmother as well as from her extensive travel and culinary research, curating a menu that is at the same time rustic and cosmopolitan, audacious and familiar, intimate and convivial.
